Locally

  • Elderly Citizen's Christmas Dinner each year.

  • Meals on Wheels to elderly citizens.

  • Kevin Cryer Scholarship to a Ngaruawahia High School leaver each year.

  • Assisting community groups.

  • $2,800 in Library grants to seven local schools.

  • Annual Garage Sale.

  • Annual Charity Golf Tournament

  • Foundation for the Blind annually.

  • Lions Cancer Hostel (Hamilton).

                       Where do funds for our donations come from?

  • Interest from the Ngaruawahia Lions Children's Trust Term Deposit.

  • Interest from the Ngaruawahia Lions Literary Trust Term Deposit.

  • Various raffles & specific fundraising activities.

  • Charity Golf Tournament. 2007 - $10,500 net proceeds donated to Charity.

  • Food caravan at the New Zealand National Agricultural Field Days, annually (details below) - our major fundraiser.

Each June, we sell food at the NZ National Fieldays near Hamilton using our Food Stall Caravan. In 2007 our net profit was over $16,000, much of which will be used for donations & sponsorships within our local community.

                                                    

 

 

 

  

 

                                                               Lions District 202C

In February 2004, the Ngaruawahia Lions Club was the host for the annual District Convention. This was held  very successfully at 'The Point' in Ngaruawahia with over 150 people attending.
